PROJECT SUMMARY

The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO), the national transmission system operator of Kenya, commissioned the following:

  • Construction of approximately 100km of a new 400kV double-circuit transmission line from the new Suswa Substation northwest of Nairobi, to the new Isinya Substation to its south;
  • Construction of a new 220kV spur line of approximately 4km to the new Ngong Substation, to the west of Nairobi;
  • Construction of approximately 5km of 220kV underground cable between the expanded Dandora Substation to the new Koma Rock Substation, northeast of Nairobi;
  • Construction of two new 220kV substations at Suswa and Isinya;
  • Construction of three new 220kV / 66kV substations at Koma Rock, Athi River (southeast of Nairobi) and Ngong.

ADM provided comprehensive construction management services to support POWER Engineers in its Owner’s Engineer role on the project.
