PROJECT SUMMARY

Nordex Energy's Amakhala wind farm is located in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The wind farm consists of 56 Nordex N117/2,400 turbines with a capacity of 2.4MW each.

Power from the wind farm is collected at 33kV and evacuated to the Eskom grid at 132kV under a 20-year power purchase agreement. The project was developed under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPP) of South Africa.

ADM assisted POWER Engineers in their Owner's Engineer role to Nordex Energy. ADM performed engineering design reviews of the electrical balance of plant, factory acceptance testing and general electrical engineering support.
